The 2011 NHL All Star Game will be the next All Star Game played in the NHL. The reason there will not be an ASG in 2010 is the Winter Olympics in Calgary.

NHL players will compete in the Olympics once again, making it the highest level of hockey possible as the best players will represent their respective countries.

The NHL All Star Game resumes in 2011 at a location to be determined but you can sign up for the 2011 NHL All Star Game tickets Alert at www.SelectATicket.com to find out when tickets become available.

2009 NHL All Star Game Tickets

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

Today the NHL will be announcing the official format for the 2009 NHL Skills Competition to be held in Montreal, Quebec during the NHL All Star Game Weekend festivities.

The NHL All Star Game will be held on January 25, 2009.

Voting is completed and a bit of a controversy has come up over the results. So-called fans of the host city Montreal Canadiens found a way to easily spam the NHL.com voting system with a ridiculous amount of votes for every Montreal Canadiens player on the ballot. As a result, the league’s best player Alexander Ovechkin is not even in the starting lineup.

Personally I find this to be embarassing to the league and to the Montreal Canadiens fans who still respect the game of hockey. There are talks underway to come up with a way to avoid such scams in the future. So far allowing fans to vote almost always turns out to be a mockery of the sport, maybe it is time to put the voting in the hands of the top beat writers around the league.

In any event, the NHL All Star Game will go on regardless of who is in the starting lineup or not! Don’t miss your chance to celebrate 100 years of the Montreal Canadiens and witness the greatest players the sport has to offer, you can find 2009 NHL All Star Game tickets here.

Spider-Man The Musical Coming to Broadway

December 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Have you heard that Spider-Man the Musical is coming to Broadway? Over at www.SelectATicket.com they have a sign-up form where you can be alerted when Spiderman Broadway Tickets become available. Pretty cool, saves you the time of searching for them from time to time.

The show sounds kind of interesting, I’m curious to hear what sort of music they have. Bono and The Edge of U2 are writing the songs for Spiderman so my guess is it is a safe bet that there’s going to be a bit of a rock n roll edge to them.

Personally I haven’t been to a Broadway show in several years, I’m more of a sports fan but the combination of something fun like Spiderman and music written by members of one of my favorite bands — I just might sign up for that Spiderman the Musical ticket alert!

NY Rangers Clinch a Playoff Spot

April 4th, 2008 · No Comments

The New York Rangers clinched a playoff spot for the third consecutive year last night with a 3-0 victory over the rival NY Islanders.

With two first period power play goals from Captain Jaromir Jagr and the 10th shutout this season from goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers were in complete control of the game all night long.

The teams meet again tonight at Madison Square Garden. With a playoff spot secured and the Islanders’ season all but over expect it to still be a physical contest as they battle for bragging rights and their pride.

The regular season standings are still a muddy mess but it is looking more and more likely that the Rangers and Devils will meet in the first round.

You can always find NY Rangers tickets at Select A Ticket!

Yankees Delay Opening Day of Final Season at Yankee Stadium

April 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Much to the chagrin of their fans, the NY Yankees decided yesterday to postpone their home opener against the Toronto Blue Jays. As it turned out, their decision was a big premature as the weather was not bad enough to cancel the game. The game has been rescheduled to be played tonight at 7pm.

Don’t forget, New York Yankee fans, that this is the final season to be played at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx as the team is building a new stadium to be opened next season.

As always, you can find New York Yankee tickets at SelectATicket.com. With competitive pricing, great seat selection and over 30 years of experience - there is no other logical choice when it comes to NY Yankee tickets than to go with Select A Ticket.
