The NHL Winter Classic is scheduled for January 1, 2009 in Chicago, Illinois.
Being held at Wrigley Field, the NHL’s annual outdoor game will feature the hometown Chicago Blackhawks vs the defending Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings.

There’s also rumors swirling around the internet that the 2010 Winter Classic will be held at the brand new Yankee Stadium being built in the Bronx and will feature the New York Rangers vs the Boston Bruins. What a game that’d be! Rangers vs Bruins in the building where so many Yankees vs Red Sox contests will be held in the future.
