NFL Pro Bowl Tickets

January 25th, 2010 · No Comments

The NFL’s version of an All Star Game takes place this coming Sunday January 31st, there are still NFL Pro Bowl Tickets available.

With over 80 all stars from around the NFL, the Pro Bowl is going to be jam packed with household names.

Because the Pro Bowl is being played BEFORE the Super Bowl this year, the Super Bowl participants are excused from the Pro Bowl to avoid possible injury.

That means no Colts or Saints in the Pro Bowl but replacements have been announced.

In the NFC, replacing New Orleans players will be:

  • Philadelphia quarterback Donovan McNabb for Drew Brees
  • Safety Quintin Mikell of Philadelphia for Roman Harper
  • Giants offensive tackle David Diehl for Jon Stinchcomb
  • Giants guard Chris Snee for Jahri Evans
  • Carolina center Ryan Kalil for Jonathan Goodwin
  • Washington linebacker London Fletcher for Jonathan Vilma
  • and Arizona safety Antrel Rolle for Darren Sharper

In the AFC, replacing Indianapolis players will be:

  • Dolphins defensive back Yeremiah Bell for Antoine Bethea
  • Jaguars QB David Garrard for Peyton Manning
  • Steelers tight end Heath Miller for Dallas Clark
  • San Diego wide receiver Vincent Jackson for Reggie Wayne
  • Tennessee center Kevin Mawae for Jeff Saturday
  • Tennessee defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch for Dwight Freeney
  • and Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis for Robert Mathis

2010 MLB All Star Game tickets — sign up!

July 15th, 2009 · No Comments

SelectATicket.com has a form to sign up for a 2010 MLB All Star Game tickets email alert.

I joined that list as well as their NHL Winter Classic list because I love these big national sporting events. These two are polar opposites, the MLB All Star Game will be mid-July in sunny Anaheim, CA and the NHL Winter Classic captures the essense of old-time hockey as it is played OUTDOORS on New Year’s Day in typically frigid Boston, MA. Either way, I’m hoping to get tickets to both events… gotta love it!

2010 NHL Winter Classic announcement today

July 15th, 2009 · No Comments

Today at Fenway Park in Boston the NHL will be announcing the participants in the 2010 NHL Winter Classic.

Obviously one of the teams will be the Boston Bruins but their opposition has been a well kept secret so far.

My guess is either the NHL wants to get Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals in there for some exposure or the Philadelphia Flyers.

Stay tuned to find out what teams will face-off in the 2010 NHL Winter Classic at Fenway Park.

For 2010 NHL Winter Classic Tickets and information, be sure to visit SelectATicket.com where you can join a list to be alerted when tickets are available. I did!

January 27th, 2009 · No Comments

The 2011 NHL All Star Game will be the next All Star Game played in the NHL. The reason there will not be an ASG in 2010 is the Winter Olympics in Calgary.

NHL players will compete in the Olympics once again, making it the highest level of hockey possible as the best players will represent their respective countries.

The NHL All Star Game resumes in 2011 at a location to be determined but you can sign up for the 2011 NHL All Star Game tickets Alert at www.SelectATicket.com to find out when tickets become available.

2009 NHL All Star Game Tickets

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

Today the NHL will be announcing the official format for the 2009 NHL Skills Competition to be held in Montreal, Quebec during the NHL All Star Game Weekend festivities.

The NHL All Star Game will be held on January 25, 2009.

Voting is completed and a bit of a controversy has come up over the results. So-called fans of the host city Montreal Canadiens found a way to easily spam the NHL.com voting system with a ridiculous amount of votes for every Montreal Canadiens player on the ballot. As a result, the league’s best player Alexander Ovechkin is not even in the starting lineup.

Personally I find this to be embarassing to the league and to the Montreal Canadiens fans who still respect the game of hockey. There are talks underway to come up with a way to avoid such scams in the future. So far allowing fans to vote almost always turns out to be a mockery of the sport, maybe it is time to put the voting in the hands of the top beat writers around the league.

In any event, the NHL All Star Game will go on regardless of who is in the starting lineup or not! Don’t miss your chance to celebrate 100 years of the Montreal Canadiens and witness the greatest players the sport has to offer, you can find 2009 NHL All Star Game tickets here.

Spider-Man The Musical Coming to Broadway

December 30th, 2008 · No Comments

Have you heard that Spider-Man the Musical is coming to Broadway? Over at www.SelectATicket.com they have a sign-up form where you can be alerted when Spiderman Broadway Tickets become available. Pretty cool, saves you the time of searching for them from time to time.

The show sounds kind of interesting, I’m curious to hear what sort of music they have. Bono and The Edge of U2 are writing the songs for Spiderman so my guess is it is a safe bet that there’s going to be a bit of a rock n roll edge to them.

Personally I haven’t been to a Broadway show in several years, I’m more of a sports fan but the combination of something fun like Spiderman and music written by members of one of my favorite bands — I just might sign up for that Spiderman the Musical ticket alert!
