NY Rangers Clinch a Playoff Spot

April 4th, 2008 · No Comments

The New York Rangers clinched a playoff spot for the third consecutive year last night with a 3-0 victory over the rival NY Islanders.

With two first period power play goals from Captain Jaromir Jagr and the 10th shutout this season from goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, the Rangers were in complete control of the game all night long.

The teams meet again tonight at Madison Square Garden. With a playoff spot secured and the Islanders’ season all but over expect it to still be a physical contest as they battle for bragging rights and their pride.

The regular season standings are still a muddy mess but it is looking more and more likely that the Rangers and Devils will meet in the first round.

You can always find NY Rangers tickets at Select A Ticket!

Joba back in the bullpen

March 20th, 2008 · No Comments

New York Yankee pitcher Joba Chamberlain has been returned to the bullpen according to Manager Joe Girardi.

Chamberlain was great coming out of the bullpen last year and some members of Yankee management thought it’d be a good idea to make him a starter this spring.

However the thinking of “it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” must have taken over as Girardi announced yesterday that Joba’s going to remain a reliever but may become a starter “in the future”. Leaving the door open to move him into the rotation at a later date if he so chooses.
