Justin Rose Dominates at Farmers Insurance Open with Historic Win at Torrey Pines

At age 45, English golf veteran Justin Rose delivered one of the most commanding performances of his career to win the 2026 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego. Rose stood atop the leaderboard from start to finish, setting a new tournament scoring record and securing his 13th PGA Tour victory.

Rose finished the week at 23-under-par 265, eclipsing the previous 72-hole record set by Tiger Woods in 1999. His seven-stroke margin of victory marked one of the most dominant performances in recent PGA Tour history.

Historic Wire-to-Wire Victory

Rose opened the tournament with a remarkable 10-under-par 62 on the North Course, establishing an early lead that he would never relinquish. He continued to build on his advantage across each round, eventually becoming the first wire-to-wire winner at Torrey Pines since 1955.

This victory also made Rose the oldest golfer in more than a decade to complete a tournament from start to finish with the lead, a testament to his enduring skill and competitive determination.

Final Round and Standings

In the final round, Rose carded a 2-under-par 70, maintaining his sizable lead despite challenging conditions. Behind him, Pierceson Coody, Si Woo Kim, and Ryo Hisatsune shared second place at 16-under, each demonstrating strong performances throughout the week.

Brooks Koepka, in his first start back on the PGA Tour after a period away, finished tied for 56th, while other notable competitors delivered varying results as they competed on one of the season’s most demanding courses.

Prize and Points

For his victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, Rose earned $1.728 million in prize money and 500 FedExCup points, strengthening his standing early in the 2026 PGA Tour season. His performance reflects not only exceptional golf but also substantial rewards in the season’s points race.

Legacy and Context

The Farmers Insurance Open has long been a key stop on the PGA Tour’s early-season schedule, played on the challenging combination of Torrey Pines North and South Courses. Rose’s achievement adds to a distinguished career that includes major championships and Ryder Cup appearances, further cementing his legacy as one of the game’s elite players.

Rose’s victory at Torrey Pines is likely to resonate throughout the golf world, not only for the statistical milestones but also for the way he controlled all aspects of the tournament from opening tee shot to final putt.
